PhD
I studied Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence and did my PhD between 2002 and 2006, under direct supervision of of Nikos Vlassis, in the IAS group of the University of Amsterdam. See publications for a full listing of all publications from this period.
My research involved (learning and coordination in) multiagent systems. The produced methods were incorporated in our RoboCup simulation team UvA Trilearn. After my PhD I moved into business.
Accomplishments during my PhD:
- Graduated cum laude in both Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science in 2002
- Won CIVI-price (best Dutch Computer Science master's thesis 2002)
- Won KION-price (best Dutch AI master's thesis 2002-2003)
- 3rd price UvA thesis price (best master's thesis University of Amsterdam 2002)
- UvA Trilearn won the RoboCup-2003 World Championships in Padova
- UvA Trilearn won the European Championships simulation league in 2002, 2003, and 2004
- The max-plus algorithm for coordination graphs won the best scientific paper award at the RoboCup-05 symposium.
- I was League chair of the simulation league RoboCup-2005, Osaka, Japan
- I defended my thesis Coordation and Learning in Cooperative Multiagent Systems successfully in November 2006
